3. not sure when wayland support is planned, but linux is moving pretty fast in that direction. Doesn't effect me at the moment, but I'm sure my next upgrade will see wayland on my computer either alone or alongside X. Either way X is clearly on its way out.

 4. I want to open this by stating that I have no interest in pursuing legal action, and I would hope that you all feel the same. Symless has offered refunds and I'm sure they are just as upset with our dissatisfaction as we are ourselves. They have shown over time that they have nothing but good intentions. I'm including this preface because the tone of what's written below may suggest otherwise, and other users have used the word "fraud". I do not feel like Symless owes me anything other than an acknowledgement of the situation, and a public apology for the customers who feel like they have been

 5. If you are posting about any of the following issues/concerns, please note that the response you will most likely get from the community is that these features are coming in Synergy 2.1. Without further ado... - Less reliant online mode - "Tinker-y" Settings panel - Removing and renaming a computer on the grid - A more polished uninstallation script - One-click updating process - Making the window size and elements dynamically adjustable - Tray icon for quick access to settings - Offline mode (YES!) - Better UI icons and labels - Better OS supp

 6. Let me start with this: I've been using Synergy since day 1. Hell, I've been using it since before you developed it, as I'd developed my own almost 15 years ago and had been using it until Synergy was released. There have always been issues, but by and large, the convenience afforded by Synergy still outweighed the bugs. I've been using it since about a week after it's initial public release. That said, I feel like you guys are approaching the release of 2.x in... not a fantastic way... Synergy 1.x had it's issues and required configuration that scared off many users, but at the same ti

 7. I don't know if this falls under the coming features ("Tinker-y" Settings panel) or (Making the window size and elements dynamically adjustable) but I'd really like to see better position control for multi-monitor setups. I have two adjacent monitors to my main screen, but my right one is in portrait mode. So it is taller than the other two. My second computer screen is above my 1st computer's primary display. But I can't drag my mouse directly to it. I have to go to the taller screen to the right since it has the highest point of my setup. However, I'm able to move my cursor down to my main

 8. Why do you guys insist on making everything automatic when that's clearly a point of frustration for so many of us? I was eagerly waiting for this update since I bought Synergy 2 last December, only to realize that proxy authentication and configuration is not supported (something which I think you should mention somewhere in your page, seeing as how a lot of people rely on proxy functionality, instead of baiting unsuspecting buyers). When I contacted support about this they said the proxy support was going to be released in a few days, and they asked me if I could wait a bit instead

 10. Hello, I was just wondering if y'all have any plans to add Android compatibility to Synergy? I have an android tablet, and also now with the introduction of Samsung DeX would like to use that with my phone as well. If you created an Android app and charged for the app individually, I'm sure you'd get a lot of hits.

 11. We are aware of an issue in Synergy 1.10.3 where the background service fails to start. Service "Synergy" (synergy) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services. We suspect that this issue is caused by the installer not providing the correct VC++ redistributable. Solution: Install the latest VC++ redistributable from Microsoft. Please open a support ticket if you're still experiencing problems. Note: This thread is a continuation of an earlier locked thread.

 12. Dear beta testers, Thanks to everyone who helped us beta test Synergy 2.0. We really appreciate it, and as a thank you, I've decided to give you each 5 extra copies of Synergy 2 Pro (worth $245) for your friends who aren't yet using Synergy. Please email [email protected] before Monday 13th to claim. Anyway, the big news: We have decided that now is the time to release Synergy 2 to the public. There are still some minor bugs that we're working on right now, but according to the majority of users, Synergy 2.0 is working great! Download Synergy 2 (public GA release) There i

 13. Add the ability to share audio hardware as we do with peripherals like keyboard and mouse. I am aware of other projects/API available like PulseAudio (https://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/PulseAudio/), Jack (http://jackaudio.org/) that can do audio routing through network but limited in several aspects (not user-friendly mainly). The ease of configuring synergy inspires me to have such a thing for audio hardware too.

 14. This is a listing of hotkeys known to function in Synergy 2 beta 4 and will be updated at such a time that it changes. Tested currently on a Win 8.1 PC (I only have PC keyboards, perhaps someone with a Mac keyboard can confirm) Make current hardware used the server: F12, Alt+F12, Ctrl+F12, Ctrl+Shift+F12 Lock to current screen: Scroll Lock Show logs: ~ (tilde), Alt+Tilde, Ctrl+Tilde (may need to make use of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tilde#Keyboards for international keyboards) That seems to be it, tested every key combination one would consider a usable hotkey.

 15. The lack of being able to tweak settings or even get into any semblance of a settings page/window like version 1 had does seem to be a step backwards. I was a happy user of Synergy 1 Pro which allowed me to tweak certain settings and configuration knobs but since version 2 it seems like you have decide that Pro is no longer an option and are treating all your users as simpletons. Who is it great for that everything is managed be the "Synergy Cloud"? Certainly not the end user since we have no access to said cloud.

 16. One other thing I forgot to mention. A big sell for 2.x was it's ability to figure itself out over complex networks. Guess what the administrators of complex networks don't want. Rogue applications sending probes all over the place and/or sending streaming data over a 4G connected VPN when a perfectly good ethernet is connected. I haven't been able to determine 2.x's routing strategy yet, but I've found that it consistently chooses precisely the least optimal route. IE: Every single time I connect my machines (at home) to my VPN to my clients office, both machines seem to immediately communica

 17. Are these hotkeys surfaced in documentation anywhere for Synergy 2? It seems that if you don't just know this stuff from prior versions already (I'm new to Synergy) this information is completely buried. At a glance it looks like Synergy 2 wasn't ready to leave beta testing.

 18. Enterpise Architect - I cannot use or r4ecommend a product like this if it is dependent on the availbility of "Cloud Services". Clouds are not 100% reliable - anybody who thinks so is fooling themselves. An organisation cannot suddenly have its keyboards disabled because a cloud service isn't working correctly. Without the documentation indicating how this service works how can it be trusted. Does it only require the clouf service during the initial configuration? Does it require the cloud service to eb=nable connections? Does require the cloudservice to be active

 19. Just going to note something here (and hope my Synergy overlords pin it). I've seen it around the forum a lot, and I'd like to point this out and end it, since the question has been asked repeatedly and had to be answered by I or another community member, wasting time that could have been used to team-troubleshoot someone's actual issue/glitch. No, Synergy 2 is not free. You may grab it by clicking this link It is $19 at the time of posting (9/25/2017). This is BETA software. Many users call it an alpha, but whatever you decide to coin it, that's what it is marketed as. Synergy

 21. I am a huge fan of this product. I bought into the 2.0 when it was first available and was a little disheartened when a paid product was reverted to "beta". I understood and didn't ask for a refund. That being said, I really have hoped for way more communication on the beta progress or some sort of beta upgrades etc. Are there any communications on this product that can be shared? Is there a release roadmap etc? signed Loyal but frustrated

 22. The current Synergy 1.9 package for Ubuntu (synergy_1.9.1.stable~b327+2a0225c1_amd64.deb) unfortunately depends on libcurl3. Many other packages in Ubuntu (the most important of which, to me at least, are the curl binary itself and cmake) depend on libcurl4. libcurl4 conflicts with libcurl3 and cannot be installed simultaneously, which means I have to uninstall synergy and libcurl3. I'm pretty sure other developers will encounter the same problem. Can we get a re-spin of the package that depends on libcurl4 instead of libcurl3?

 25. I would be ashamed as a software engineer to call this "stable" I had this issue on two of my windows 10 computers and managed to get it to work. tested it and got it working by only doing a few things 1. Close the Synergy window 2. Stop the background Synergy service (do this from services.msc) 3. In regedit go to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software and delete the \Symless\Synergy key and all subkeys. 4. restart the synergy background service. 5. open the client, it will have a button to click to log into synergy, it will give you an error that it cannot connect. wai

 26. Signed into the forums to second this. I don't mean to be rude, but I will withdraw my support for Synergy if it requires cloud connectivity. There is absolutely no reason the application should fail without an internet connection. I need a KVM solution, not a self-aware settings-in-the-cloud-storing ostentatious replacement.

Reboot system (precautionary) 5. open terminal in directory of .deb file 6. install manually with: sudo dpkg -i synergy-v1.8.8-stable-25a8cb2-Linux-x86_64.deb 7. 30. It takes a little work, but it is possible to use Synergy over VPN without split-tunneling. Here is what I did. 1) Register yourself a free (or paid if you don't want 30-day nags) dynamic DNS address (DDNS) from a place like dynDNS or no-ip 2) Register for the Pro version of Synergy to get that sweet, sweet SSL security. You're going to be opening some pin holes, so best to keep the connection secure while in transit 3) Select a non-default port for Synergy to use - again security precaution From you home network router: 4) Create a DHCP reservation or assign a static IP for your s

 31. I look at comments like, "if you want Synergy, you need to switch to Xorg" to being equivalent to, "you must run the program in Windows XP compatibility mode". The new product has been out for nearly a decade, is widely adopted, and has become the default for a number of popular distributions. I understand there are engineering challenges, but it also helps to actually work on the problem instead of shipping new commercial features. The audience for Synergy are primarily power users, many of whom use Linux. If you won't support Wayland, it's almost as like Linux support is itself bec

 32. A message to the developers: I saw in your issues page where the lack complaints from licensed users (as opposed to Github users) makes this look like a low priority issue to you. As a licensed user, and as a software developer, I say that's like knowing your toilet is plugged but not grabbing the plunger and doing something about it until your 4 year old poops and floods it out. A bit vivid, I know, but I need the point to be clear. You know Wayland is the next target for GUI services. You should know Wayland is reasonably mature at this point. Is there still any good reason to keep dragging

 34. I think the "failed to create quartz event tap" is linked to privacy permissioning issues. I had this (both machines running Mac OSX Mojave) and fixed by going to System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> Privacy and unchecking and then rechecking the box allowing Synergy to control the computer. The second I did that the connection worked and Synergy is now ticking along nicely. Good luck!

"There was a problem connecting to the auto-config service" "websocket handshake response 400: Bad Request" Also, why in the world would they use a self-signed SSL cert for a commercial product? You're saving literally dozens of dollars here. You didn't even get the name correct on your self-signed cert. https://www.sslshopper.com/ssl-checker.html#hostname=pubsub1.cloud.symless.com I've been a software developer for 20+ years. 37. The best way to use synergy with gaming is to lock the keyboard and mouse to the gaming machine by pressing the scroll lock key while the cursor is on the gaming machine. You can then unlock it when you want to move to the streaming machine again by pressing scroll lock. This will solve your problem with Fortnite. In COD you will probably have to put the game in a menu of some sort to release the cursor and move to the streaming machine. In both of these scenarios the game will probably minimize but synergy can't help with that. Most full screen games minimize when they loose focus.

 41. I love the product as a whole, but with love comes both praise and a firm hand when needed. With that being said I have to say that this feels rushed. My issue about not being able to Alt-Tab on the Win 8.1 client from my Win10 server has not been addressed or even commented on. The issue of disabling functionality when the web service cannot be reached is more than annoying, it is disabling and makes the product useless in some instances. I love the product as a whole, but this should still be in beta.

 42. Additionally, the Synergy 2 early access is primarily designed for technically-minded users that know how to go through the troubleshooting process and use some of the more obscure tools on systems to troubleshoot their issues. It is not designed for a production environment (which is fairly obvious, given its beta state) and it may take a lot of time out of your day to troubleshoot certain issues in order to get Synergy 2 running again. There's a reason its a beta. If you want something that mainly works with relatively little issues compared to Synergy 2, get the stable branch of Synergy, ot

 43. I'll jump in too. First, there are hundreds of thousands of successful, satisfied, Synergy users. There are hundreds of successful, satisfied, Synergy 2.0 beta users. If all this were not true, there would be no Synergy. You have a choice. You can take the time to work with the developers, even Nick, to work through your unique systems to reach a successful installation. Both you and Synergy will learn from the process. Or you can accept the gracious offer of a refund of whatever you have invested. You can go away happy. The rest of us will go forward, participating, learning and grow

Despite some frustration with things being borked and needing uninstalls/registry cleanups/cloud logins, etc (the link below is an essential reference) I did manage to get everything working. I even managed to get a connection from my weirdly networked machine that I didn't figure I'd be able to get working until there was a manual settings file. The new UX is unsettling. The windows tray / mac menubar helper doesn't have any way of showing what's going on...you have to open a different app. The Synergy App looks fine when

 49. I do think "beta" is a bit of a misnomer here, as this hasn't even reached minimum viable product, yet - it really feels more like alpha or proof of concept at the moment. I'd put a vote in for stopping calling this a beta until, at the very least, it has reached feature parity with synergy 1 - until then it's an alpha at best.
