synergy 1.7.6 pro mouse issue

I have a fedora(23) client and Mac OS X(10.11.4) client. I used to use an older version of synergy(1.6.x) which worked fine except for the clipboard not available on the client every now and then. However, after the update. Every click seems to add spaces or intends. It makes using synergy unusable. Imagine adding spaces to code every time you open an IDE. Should I downgrade to an older version or is anyone else experiencing this issue.
