Copy and Paste not working in parallels VM

The copy and paste is not working form me when I try to paste into a Parallels (Win10) Virtual Machine when that VM is on the client side. A command+v is showing up on the client / VM side as just the letter V and it seems to be omitting all of the control/ commands. I am also just now learning that the shift key is not operational either. All systems are running to date os's, VM's, VM tools and synergy versions with no luck. This used to work and is a new bug with a more recent release.
