Clipboard issues Server to Client

Got a strange issue when I copy text from my server (OS X 10.11.4) to my client (Win7 64-bit). If I copy some text on my OS X laptop, I cannot paste anything on my Win7 desktop until I paste it first in a text editor within OS X. Once I've copied the text and pasted it in a text editor in OS X, I can paste on my Win7 machine. It doesn't matter where I copy the text from in OS X. I have to paste it first within OS X before I can paste it in Windows. It happens every time I need to paste text from OS X to Windows. If I copy from Win7, it pastes without issue into OS X. I've tried restarting the application on both sides. I've tried uninstalling/re-installing. It didn't help. Any help in this situation would be great. I can provide any other information that would be useful.
