Unable to cross screens from Win10 to Xubuntu

I've been using Synergy primarily on Windows for a long time. I setup a Xubuntu desktop system and had it connect as client to a Windows 10 server. I can move from the Xubuntu screen to Windows 10 by hitting the edge of the screen but not vice versa. I turned on screen lock and setup hotkeys to switch between monitors which works fine but isn't ideal. I tried reconfiguring, reinstalling, using both wifi and lan IP's and changing positions. My other Win10 devices connect flawlessly.
