Win7 upgrade to 10: Synergy throws error message on start

I have used Synergy (last cost free version) between a Windows 7 and Windows XP system for quite some time. I now upgraded the Windows 7 system to Windows 10 (update; no fresh install) and after that Synergy did not start anymore, throwing the following error message:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error! Program: C:\Program Files\Synergy\synergy.exe This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.
So I thought, that maybe the cost free version is simply to old to run on Windows 10, so I bought Synergy and installed the current stable (1.7.6 64Bit), but I still get the same error. Using google the only hint I found was to reinstall Visual studio redistributables. First I tried with only 2015 redistributables, because I found that VS2015 is needed in the prerequisites for compiling Synergy myself. But after I found that in those prerequisites Qt5 is needed, but there are Qt4-Dlls in the Synergy-Directory I wasn't sure the program was really compiled with VS2015, so I reinstalled the redistributables for 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2015. After all this I still get that error message and don't have any ideas left on what to do, to get the program running. Any helpful hint would be appreciated.

Some further information I have found out in the meantime:

It isn't a general problem of an upgraded Windows 10, because I got it working on a different PC. The problem is, I need it on this PC.

I also found that the synergy service is running and I can find the following entires in the synergyd.log:

synergys.exe: no configuration available

[2016-08-19T12:09:06] ERROR: failed to launch, error: process immediately stopped
[2016-08-19T12:09:16] INFO: activeDesktop:Default

Then I also found information in the windows event log for applications: The application throws an error id 1000 (event log entry in german, because of german windows):

Name der fehlerhaften Anwendung: synergy.exe, Version: 0.0.0.0, Zeitstempel: 0x57a8804b
Name des fehlerhaften Moduls: QtCore4.dll, Version: 4.6.2.0, Zeitstempel: 0x4b72bd5f

I will try to translate it:

Name of erroneous application: synergy.exe, Version: 0.0.0.0, Timestamp: 0x57a8804b
Name of erroneous module: QtCore4.dll, Version: 4.6.2.0, Timestamp: 0x4b72bd5f

Erroroffset: 0x0000fa61
ID of erroneous Process: 0x2fcbc
Time of start of erroneous application: 0x01d1fa058104cd31
Path of erroneous application: C:\Program Files\Synergy\synergy.exe
Path of erroneous module: C:\Program Files\Synergy\QtCore4.dll
Record label: 7112a895-13f2-4e33-b3ab-a1b48066421b
Full name of erroneous package:
Application-ID, which is relative to erroneous Package:

If this does not help to solve my problem: Is there a way to configure the service without synergy.exe by e.g. altering the registry?
