lost keystrokes when virtualbox is running

PC A is windows 10

PC B is windows 7

 

Both running Synergy 1.8.2-stable-36cd521.

 

Normal operation, everything is fine.

 

But when PC A runs virtualbox 5.1 (ubuntu guest) i start losing keystrokes. meaning, i have to type each character 2-3 times to actually get the characters to show up.

 

it doesn't seem to happen right away, its only after its been active for a while does it start happening.
