William Siddall 0
With the release of Fedora 25 Linux distribution, XServer has been replaced for Wayland which supports more modern hardware and runs more efficiently than XServer. Â Synergy does not support Wayland so trying to run as either server or client in Fedora does not work. There is a workaround to force Fedora to use XServer, but this should be supported technology as other distributions will release it as default system soon. Â Ubuntu has this to say @ https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuGNOME/FAQ ... and_vs_MIR: Wayland support has been available since 15.04, however its not enabled by default just yet since it still needs some work. If you want to try it out install the gnome-session-wayland package. Â Xorg support wont go away, even once we switch to wayland by default (perhaps around 16.10), you will still be able to use Xorg as a fallback. Â Mir - We will not support this. Steffen W Soerensen 1
Nick says @ZenDesk 'Wayland support is coming soon to Synergy for Linux users', wondering when soon will be... as my linux wouldn't run Xorg with kernels after 4.10.9, but it works with Wayland Edited May 18, 2017 by Steffen W Soerensen
