Jeff Hortian 0
Hey All, Â I am pretty new to linux, I started a new job and we are using linux in production so I decided to start using linux as my main driver, at least for my laptop for now. I am trying to get Synergy installed; however, I am having some issues getting it to run/install. I am still fairly new to linux so any help is much appreciated. Â So far I have directly downloaded it from the "http://symless.com/download/file/?file=synergy-v1.8.7-stable-9799e96-Linux-x86_64.deb", I then extracted it within the download folder. Now I am not sure what files I need to run as there was no documentation or forum entries stating how to install it. I did find some executable files; however, I was not able to run those via the sh "filename" command. I was also wondering if I should move the file to the /ect/opt as that is where extra software is installed from my understanding. Â Thank You, Jeff
Sam Rimmer 0
Hey there Jeff,  You should be able to install it using the following: sudo dpkg -i /path/to/deb/file followed by sudo apt-get install -f  If you're still having issues let me know!
