Trond Sagli 0
Hi, The computer I use as server is connected to a network that uses dynamic IP. So every time I boot on the network it is assigned new IP addresses. Â I have tried "Auto config", but that doesn't work. The client requires the exact IP address of the server, or it won't connect. Â Can't find any topic on this in the FAQs from Symless. Â Hopefully someone has been there before? I don't want to manually change the server IP in the client set-up every morning :-( Â Thanks, Trond
Stanley Luong 0
Hi Trond, Â I dont think it will work in your case with dynamic IP. If you use dynamic IP, you have to set every PC (clients) after finding the new IP from the synergy server (everytime you restart the synergy server). How about you ask the admin for a static IP for your synergy server? Other clients can have static IP. Or you can resort to asking to admin for recording your synergy server name in the DNS server, hence the clients can have way to locate the new IP of the server (hopefully). LOL Â Cheers, Stanley. Trond Sagli 0
OK, thanks, Was hoping for something better ... Anyone? Â What does it take to make "Auto config" work? Screen- and PC-names are unique, but Synergy is still not able to connect. Â Â Thanks, Trond
