Windows 10 (Home) 64 bit, I have tried with both 32 and 64 bit versions of synergy. It has lasted a month, so both tried with what ever synergy version is the newest now and what was back then. When I first bought synergy it did run but couldn't connect to my other machine (Macbook pro 2011 running macOS Sierra 10.12.4), so I gave up. Two weeks later (or how ever long it took me to try again) synergy simply failed to launch giving me the error code I linked in the original post.
