Unable to Install on Debian 9

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to install Synergy on an upgraded Debian 9 machine and am running into errors.

Synergy is looking for libssl.so.1.0.0 and libcrypt.so.1.0.0 and the installed libraries are libssl.so.1.0.2 an libcrypto.so.1.0.2.

Is there a work around for this problem?

Hi Kevin,

Would you mind if I helped you via the forums? I'll need you to post your question as a new thread, then you can give me the link and I'll personally make sure someone on my team replies.

I ran into the same problems on a new install of Debian 9 I just made - but I managed to successfully work around the problem by installing the libssl1.0.0 from Jessie on my Stretch system - It seems to work to have both libraries installed side by side.

https://packages.debian.org/jessie/libssl1.0.0

I didn't notice the problem on my other machines, since I installed synergy on those before upgrading to Stretch.

I just downloaded synergy_2.0.9.stable_b1573+4a1bbebe_amd64.deb and attempted to install it. Package Manager complains:

Error: Dependency is not satisfiable: libssl1.0.0 (>=1.0.0)

Maybe you (Synergy Team) should focus on dynamically loading different version of libcrypto.so (from the libssl* packages).
