josegalvez 19
We have CylanceProtect installed on our macs and synerg-service is triggering a pivot violation and is getting shutdown. Any thoughts on how to deal with this ?
jaap aarts 65
have you tried contacting symless at [email protected]? this is something thats in the code itself, we cant really fix it.
josegalvez 19
figured that would most likely be the case. I sent the same note to [email protected]. Edited November 8, 2017 by jaap aarts damn the edit feature, dont acidentaly click it!!
jaap aarts 65
did synergy 1 work? if it did I think it should be a small fix, but if it doesn't its probably gonna take a while.
josegalvez 19
yes 1.8 works well so I hope it's something that can be fixed
josegalvez 19
so the issue was completely related to cylance. I had our security folks create an exception for synergy and now it working just fine between linux and mac
jaap aarts 65
hmm, well you're lucky. I dontthink many companies would make an exeption for synergy. This should be fixed, not now but later.
josegalvez 19
agreed, I actually was pretty surprised that they made the exception for me.
RobCordeau 0
I'm having the same issue. Was this ever fixed?
josegalvez 19
nope, at least not as of 2.08 which I just installed on my new mac and realized the problem was back. Best you can do is ask your IT guys to white list synergy in Cylance.
Guest Andrew Nelless
This isn't a threat or a bug. The service uses coroutines internally to perform some async network i/o. Switching (or 'pivoting') stacks is a completely normal part of these operations. An exception must be added for Synergy to function.
josegalvez 19
Yes I had. It added as an exception by our IT Dept. Unfortunately exceptions are on a per machine, not software bases, at least where I work. Jose
