Custom Keyboard weirdness

I'm not sure why this happens but I use a custom keyboard layout on all of my machines (Programmer Dvorak). I have used it for years and really like it for hacking and addons and the like. The issue I'm having is with the NumPad. This particular layout changes the numpad to 123456789 instead of 789456123 (if you catch my meaning). This works fine on the host machine, but when using synergy it swaps back just the numpad.

My guess is that it sends the hardware code for the NUMPAD1 key when I hit the NUMPAD7 key and that get's translated back into 7 (so it's being swapped twice). Any ideas on how to work around this or why it only happens with the numpad?
