Alt gr modifier not sent (Mac & Ubuntu)

Hi.

I am using Synergy on a Mac (High Sierra) and on an Ubuntu (17.10 xorg) computer. My problem is that when pressing alt gr + key, to write @,#,{},etc on the Mac's keyboard, Ubuntu only gets gets alt + key. I can't input any of these characters. The same happens if I share the Ubuntu keyboard, Mac doesn't get alt gr + key.

I've asked support about this and they have told me that it is a known bug and they are looking for a solution, in the mean time, does someone know a workaround?
