Synergy Activation & Proxy Servers?

I just downloaded Synergy 1.7.4 and went to set it up on my MacBook Pro. I type in my Email and Password in the "Activate" dialog and click continue and then it spends a minute or so and then comes back with an error dialog: "Login failed, an error occurred. Server response:" (blank) My machine is sitting on a network that has a proxy server and I am wondering if that is causing this, or perhaps firewall things. My System proxy server settings are correct and everything else works fine and I am able to visit fine with a web browser. Also, I am not finding a Search for searching the discussion boards, which seems pretty odd.
