64bit vs 32bit

I'd appreciate on getting some feedback on who is successfully using the 32bit version as opposed to the 64bit version. I used synergy successfully on XP for a couple of years without too many issues but trying to install on Win 7 is an absolute nightmare. I have tried installing the 64bit version on 4 occasions and spent too many hours uninstalling and starting afresh. I wonder if the 32bit version might be worth trying? I'd appreciate some comments and feedback on your experiences because Synergy is very useful if you can get it working, but I am hesitant to devote any more hours to this because I simply do not have any more time to waste. Is the 32bit version likely to be any more successful - even with the latest version?
