Thomas Thorne 0
I came into the office this morning and found I was unable to move the mouse from my Ubuntu 14.04 Desktop (running the Synergy Server 1.7.5) to my Windows 7 Laptop (Running Synergy Client 1.7.5). I am currently watching Ubuntu's apport thing spinning away after I asked to "Examine locally" thinking that as I do not download Synergy from Ubuntu it might not generate a valid report and just end up hiding the .ops somewhere unhelpful. A second click on the "Examine locally" button too my me to a notification stating:
The crashed program seems to use third-party or local libraries: /home/thomasthorne/.synergy/plugins/libns.so It is highly recommended to check if the problem persists without those first. Do you want to continue the report process anyway?
I have chosen to proceed and try examining the stack trace. Meanwhile my server must have restarted becase I can access the laptop again. After a few jittery moments that has reported the Windows side synergyc.exe has stopped working. Ahh gdb is back and says...
WARNING: /home/thomasthorne/.synergy/plugins/libns.so is needed, but cannot be mapped to a package dynamically loaded /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libXfixes.so.3.1.0 needs package libxfixes3, queueing Calling gdb command: gdb --ex 'set debug-file-directory /tmp/apport_sandbox_bxuX8K/usr/lib/debug' --ex 'set solib-absolute-prefix /tmp/apport_sandbox_bxuX8K' --ex 'file "/tmp/apport_sandbox_bxuX8K//usr/bin/synergys"' --ex 'core-file /tmp/apport_core_xYGij4' GNU gdb (Ubuntu 7.7.1-0ubuntu5~14.04.2) 7.7.1 Copyright (C) 2014 Free Software Foundation, Inc. Hopefully some debug files will be here when I get back or someone can nudge me in the next couple of hours with a suggestion of what to do.
Thomas Thorne 0
I don't know if the Windows problem will be related or not. If I "Send information" to Microsoft will it find its way to you in a helpful manner? I can try an upload the .tmp.hdmp file here if that would be more helpful.
shafted 0
This is happening to me as well and I'm using LM17.3. It will just crash and from Win7 say that client is dead. dmesg [ 3715.623154] synergyc[3592]: segfault at 7f76f8021000 ip 00007f76fe7eb9e0 sp 00007f770002b998 error 4 in libcrypto.so.1.0.0[7f76fe770000+1b2000] [ 4981.086665] synergyc[4076]: segfault at 10 ip 0000000000455a38 sp 00007f86bf7fddd0 error 4 in synergyc[400000+a6000]
shafted 0
The encryption looks like it's still broken, if you turn it off it's all good...
